Separation of Church & State?

When is it OK for the Church to be an arm of the government? Apparently when we're being stripped of our civil liberties. I found this video quite disturbing.

I've been meaning for quite a while to read Hitlers Cross by Irwin Lutzer which outlines how the cooperation of the German church helped smooth the way for Fascism in Germany. Now seems like a good time to move it to the top of my reading list!

I have seen the clip shortly after it was produced. I have also read the book. I find the whole siutation upsetting. I'm even a Canadian living in the US and can see no way out of what is coming.

The book was the most telling of what went on in the churches shortly up to the Nazi era, and well into the Nazi era. It is a script that our churches today are following - I'm afraid to say.

The book is one of the most important Christian books to be read ever, other than the Geneva Bible.

Thanks for your post. Keep up the great work. I also believe that the Church should be instrumental in running the Government. The 501(c)3 "churches" handed over their God given rights to the governments to run and tell them what to say. Now they are corporations licensed by the state. If ANY church is tax exempt, it is corrupt. I mean ANY church - I don't care if you're a lifelong Southern Baptist, or Episcopalian, whatever your flavor, the base stock of the stew is corrupt.
